We’ve seen many gadgets and new technologies that can make our lives much easier. A lot of them, however, were just upgraded versions of what was already out there. Many prototypes were showcased at the convention and we are looking forward to seeing the final results. But first, let’s see which one of these tech innovations can be used to improve your business.
1. Daqri Smart Helmet
Presented in January during the CES convention, the Daqri Smart Helmet drew everybody’s attention. Basically, the Daqri Smart Helmet connects the worker with his or her environment and creates an augmented reality, all the while providing them with the necessary information regarding what they need to do. This helmet is intended for industrial workers and, if you work at a construction site, the helmet will turn it into an augmented reality playground.
It also protects the worker, just as a regular helmet would, and it is fairly lightweight. The battery can last the entire shift, so that the the person wearing the helmet can perform their tasks without the need to recharge it. The smart helmet has integrated cameras, both conventional and infrared. Also, it contains an infrared laser projector. Other features include a microphone and headphones which cancel noise and allow the worker to communicate without any difficulties.
Some people have already pointed out the similarities to Google Glass, but this helmet is intended for a completely different market and won’t really be competing directly against it. While entrepreneurs, bloggers and managers can benefit from Google Glass, the Daqri Smart Helmet is perfect for industrial and manufacturing businesses. If you want your business to develop and expand, you need to stay up-to-date with technology, and the construction industry is no different.

This way, your conversation stays completely private, as the sound isn’t played through a speaker for every passerby to hear.
