Some bloggers hit the jackpot in their first shot at blogging, while others keep complaining about the lack of traffic and income even after launching a series of blogs and trying their luck at hundreds of different niches. Similarly, some overweight people make up their minds, get down to exercising and lose weight in a matter of months, while others spend their lives in planning to start an exercise regime and get the shape they’ve always wanted. The basic difference between the go-getters and worrywarts is nothing but the excuses, while some manage to prevail over the trap; a big majority gets trapped in a myriad of excuses that their mind keeps throwing at them, and fail to discover their true potential. Following are some excuses which are common amongst the bloggers and overweight people, along with some rebuttals to help you rise above these excuses and achieve your goals.
I will start tomorrow:
There’s a saying that goes like “don’t leave until tomorrow what you can do today”. Sounds quite simple, still we fail miserably at doing so. A big part of our stress comes from our habit of procrastinating; we keep putting it on to the next day, not realizing that each passing day is pushing us farther and farther from our goals. Don’t let your mind cox you into believing that you will get down to your diet or blogging routine tomorrow, at the end of the day, you will have to do it in the present day, because there is no tomorrow.
I don’t know the secrets:
Another excuse, those who don’t get the desired results while trying to lose weight, or making money via blogging, often find solace in thinking that the successful ones must be having some secrets or shortcut for success. They will spend more time in searching for that secret, instead of doing what they are ought to do. Remember that the results in both of these endeavors (losing weight and blogging) will be coming quite late, and the only secrets for success are patience and persistence, something you need to master, since no course can teach you these.
I don’t have time:
Another excuse you will often hear is the lack of time, and that often comes from people who will spend hours in front of their TV, jumping from one channel to another, or social networks going from one friend’s profile to another. Both blogging, and weight loss exercise routines don’t ask for more than one hour on regular basis, and you can manage that much time simply by cutting down on the amount of TV or gaming. Spending less than an hour on your exercise routine can give you a perfectly toned up body in a matter of months, while an hour spent on blogging will add quite a lot to your monthly income, as you can see the rewards are well worth the investment.
I’ve tried and failed many times before:
Just because your halfhearted attempts have failed to bring any sizable results, doesn’t mean you should quit the thought of making an honest attempt altogether, and blame it on previous failures. Remember that by being a complainer, you are doing harm to nobody but yourself. And even if you’ve failed in your first or second attempt, you stand more chances of getting successful the third time around, because there’s a lot you must have learned from your mistakes.
I don’t have the motivation:
What would I do by losing those extra pounds? What difference can some extra income make to my miserable financial condition? The answer is … it can make quite some difference. Just because you can’t make it big, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be going for the small accomplishments, after all it is little drops that make an ocean. Even if the extra income is not something worth going for, blogging can offer a lot more benefits other than the earning, for example, you will be able to help people with your expertise, gain recognition or fame, or simply boost your professional resume.
