A couple weeks back a visitor posed this comment:

I did give him a reply as far as my personal choice of using the Donanza Job Board for Riches Corner. But I did want to take the time to provide a more complete answer and show how I implement the Job Board on this site.
First of all, I did some research and found that Jocuri is correct. I couldn’t find any completely free wordpress plugins for implementing a job board on a blog.
In this article, I’m going to share how I implement the Donanza job board on my site. This is a completely free solution that is simple to use and provides great value for any blog.
The Donanza Job Board
As you can see from the Riches Corner Job Board, Donanza supplies a very clean, professional looking interface for their users.
There are several advantages I’ve found with using the Donanza Job Board.
The first is it’s utilization of backfill projects that pulls from other professional freelance sites from around the web. Among the sites that supply job listings for the Donanza Job Board are Elance, goFreelancer, Odesk, and many more. This allows your job board to start its life already populated with jobs for your blog visitors.
As a blog publisher, one can sign up for a Donanza Job Board for free and begin utilizing their service immediately.
As an affiliate of Donanza, a publisher will earn a percentage of commission for each application for a backfill job. In addition, you can set a price to charge for people to post on your board. This is one of the few programs where you can earn some money both on the job postings as well as when people apply for a freelance job.
These are a few of the Donanza Job Board features:
- It’s completely Free
- Easy to use
- Search through the job postings using a variety of filters
- Implementation of RSS Feed for sending new listings to Twitter and Facebook.
- Backfill projects keeps your job board populated
Here’s what the NY Times had to say about the Donanza Job Board:
What’s the big deal about DoNanza? It’s a job search engine that pulls results from freelance and remote working job sites across the web. No longer do we mere mortals have to visit multiple sites to search their listings. DoNanza appears to be a one-stop shop for job search.
For all of these reasons, I recommend using the Donanza Project Board, if you are looking to add a job board to your blog.
How do you implement it on your site?
Step 1. Sign up for your free account on Donanza
It takes only a few minutes to sign up for your Donanza account. Once you are signed up, you can create your job board. Donanza also provides you the code for a widget you can add to your site.
Step 2. Add the Project Board to Your Blog
Donanza allows you to use your own personal subdomain for your job board. This is fine, but you don’t want to simply link the url on your navigation bar as you will end up navigating away from your blog when you do so.This is what the page looks like if I simply go to the url of my project board:

As you can see, I’ve lost the header and navigation bar back to my blog. While I want users to use my job board, I don’t want to make it difficult for them to get back to my blog. Otherwise, I’ll end up losing my blog visitors. The method I use to fix this is to create a page on my blog and then integrate the job board using an iframe.
So go create a new page.

Then give your page a title. Now switch over to html and add this code in the body:
You can adjust your height and width to suite your blog’s theme. With this iFrame code, your end design will look like this:

Now your users can easily navigate to your job board and browse your listings without ever leaving your blog. This is a virtually seamless integration of the job board onto your site.
Step 3. Final Adjustments
Now that your job board is seamlessly integrated onto your site, you can make some final adjustments to personalize the board.

Donanza has a number of personal options, including the color, theme and layout of your job board. In addition, you can add your own code in the side column, including adsense if you choose.

Also, to give your job listings more visibility, you can add the widget to the other pages on your blog and configure their rss feed to route new job listings to your social network.
Finally, depending on your niche, you can select the types of backfill projects to list on your project board.
Set up Your Project Board to send out Tweets for new Projects
Finally, you should take advantage of the RSS feed from your job board by sending out new updates to twitter. You can either use your website’s existing twitter account or set up a dedicated twitter account just for your job board.
Then set up your rss feed (http://YOUR PROJECT BOARD URL/rss) to use a service such as RSS2Twitter or twitterfeed to link your project board RSS feed to your new Twitter account. This will keep your twitter account updated with new listings and increase your exposure on the web.
Final Thoughts
I’ve explored a number of different options for implementing a job board. So far, I’ve found that the Donanza Job board is versatile and powerful. They pull listings from reputable sources and provide numerous options for you to advertise the job listings.
