To identify your target market clearly, it is recommended to have an understanding of who your potential customers are in particular such as their demographic characteristics. This will take time and hard work, but once you determine exactly the right customers for your products, you can surely make money. As a tip in identifying your target market, put yourself in your customer's shoes.

Good tips Richard, one should check the competitive level of the niche they passionate about too. In case it's has high competition better spend some time to gain knowledge and skill in some other niche based on profitability, low competition and high demand. Thanks for sharing Richard.

Richard, this is an encouraging article for the handmade blog affiliate marketer. For example on my site I only promote products that I have used, discovered to be exemplary, and believe others will enjoy. Authenticity and trust are side effects of an article that shows so much personal acquaintance with the product. The only think better is more than one personal experience, which is a reason I like to promote stuff on Amazon, where customers tend to be brutally honest and sincerely enthused. That personal touch generates real confidence for the buyer who is "on the fence."

On thing I dread about some newer affiliate marketers is that they do not always follow these tips.

Particularly the "use the product yourself"

This is important. first of all a product that you use and enjoy yourself almost sells itself. All you have to do is talk (or write) about what you like about it.

Secondly there is an enthusiasm and honesty that just can't be faked that ends up "between the lines".

If you can't recommend something from experience. Simply don't recommend it.

affiliate marketing is very promising. I only use blogging to promote my affiliate product and now it has surpassed my adsense revenue. Craiglist or USfreeads is kind of new marketing method for me, how to use them to promote my affiliate product?

Great Tips. I also appreciate that I can relate to your story( I am a father of two and married). This business is great, although it takes real commitment.
