Creating enough content can be tough.  You are constantly writing and trying to think up ideas for new blog posts, article submissions, e-books, free giveaways, etc…

If you are building up your blog and your internet presence, you are doing all of those things.  But where do you get the time?

If you are like me, you may also hold a full time job on the side and it’s time consuming enough to get out a blog post on a regular basis, much less do all the other things to build up your traffic.

This is where making strategic use of PLR articles can come in handy.

What are PLR articles

PLR stands for Private Label Rights.  PLR Articles are articles where the author gives away virtually all the rights of their work, including giving you the ability to claim authorship.

Private Label Rights are the most expansive rights that can be given for intellectual property.  It allows the receiver to re-publish and resell the work as their own.

What are the Advantages of PLR Articles

Why would someone give away all the rights to their own work?

Aspiring authors create a lot of content.  Sometimes it may be more content than they can use on their own.  Other times selling the rights to their content gives them a way to make a bit of money with articles they might not use for themselves.

Often, you can find PLR Articles packaged up and sold as a bundle.

Other times, authors may give away a small set of PLR articles to get someone to sign up for their newsletter or as a way to upsell to a larger package of articles or their e-book.

The advantage of getting a bundle of PLR articles is that they can be used by the new owner to supplement their own content.

One can re-write or spin the articles for their own use.  It can save you a lot of time and effort to make strategic use of PLR Articles

How do I Use PLR Articles

Using PLR Articles has really allowed me to expand my content.  I do try to use PLR content sparingly as I do find that they don’t convey the same tone as I do.  Also sometimes I find that PLR articles may not be as high quality as my own writing.  However, this can be corrected.

I don’t put PLR or spun PLR content on Riches Corner.  Here, I try to keep all my content original.  If it’s not written by me, then it’s written by a guest poster.

Use PLR Articles for Research

I will however use PLR articles to research particular topics for a blog post if I am stuck for an idea.  I can gather up several PLR articles on one subject and take tips and ideas from each of them and write up a blog post on that topic.  This works particularly well when creating list posts.

Use PLR Articles to Build Backlinks

I will typically take a PLR article on a subject such as seo, backlinking, or blogging.  I can do some quick editing and some rewriting to clean it up and then it’s ready for submission to an article directory.  I also use this method when I am creating free one way backlinks with Free Traffic System.

This way I can quickly submit new articles to article directories and blogs and get quality backlinks to my blog.

Use PLR E-books as Free Giveaway

One way that many bloggers build up their traffic and their lists is by offering a free giveaway.  Now if you are a new blogger, you probably don’t have enough content yet to bundle up an e-book.

One thing you can do is to get a PLR ebook and use that for a free giveaway.  You can find PLE ebooks already complete with the title images in a variety of places.

One downside to a completed PLR ebook is that it’s not as personalized as your own work.  You may see other copies of the same book online, and the quality may not be as good.  Again, this can be corrected by editing and rewriting the book.

But overall, this is a good way to have a free giveaway for your audience while you are building up content to create an original ebook.

Create Your Own Ebook with PLR Articles

This is a method that works well for me.  I will take several articles on a particular niche and create my own ebook.

This does take a little editing to make the articles flow together.  You can also take different articles on the same topic and break them down into chapters.  This way, you can easily create a 40-50 page ebook on almost any subject with just a couple of hours of work.

Then just create a custom cover.  There’s a number of free services that you can find with a simple Google search.  I will use a service and create a cover and then add some finishing touches with GIMP (my free photoshop alternative).

Once I have the ebook and cover, I can upload it to Amazon and sell it on the kindle.  You can read how easy it is to sell an ebook on the Kindle in my blog post on how to publish an ebook to the kindle.

Using this method, I can pretty much publish a new ebook on almost any niche very quickly and is a great way to start earning an online income quickly.

Final Thoughts

There are many more methods for using PLR Articles.  These are a few that I find work well for me to efficiently build traffic, content and ebooks.
