Every successful blogger promotes his or her blog through various means. A blog can be promoted by another blog, a website, a social media platform like Facebook, Twitter, and guest posting and so on. You may not get a direct monetary benefit by your guest posting.
But, the indirect benefit through guest blogging is countless including innumerable backlinks to your blogs from websites which have authority in your niche. Guest blogging really rocks and gives new thrust to your blog hits which will bring you more sales and thereby more profits.
We shall explore the advanced search parameters in Google to find blogs that are worthy of guest posting.
PSST: Why should you read this post? Because this is the strategy I’m exactly using to find blogs to guest post on behalf of my coupon sites that offer carbonite and sittercity discount coupons.
Quick search using double quotes
You can find blogs that come under your niche by searching with “your niche keyword + blogs” in Google search box. The search will list out all the blogs that may be helpful in your sphere. The next step is to sort out in terms of their content quality, style, page rank, etc. You should find blogs where you can fit.
Otherwise, your offer may be rejected. You cannot compete with top blogs in your domain when you are a beginner in that area. You should figure out whether those blogs are permitting guest posts on their sites. If they are accepting guest posts, you better build a rapport with those blog moderators before submitting a guest post.
The initial relationship by valid comment on their blogs and interactions through social media sites like Facebook and Twitter will greatly enhance your opportunities for guest blog posting.
Using all possible synonyms
Bloggers use different synonyms to invite guest postings. You should explore all the possible words in this respect. Some of them are “submit”, “guest post”, “blog post”, “submit an article”, “write to us”, “contribute”, “contributor”, “guest writer”, “guest column”, “become our author”, etc.
You can use permutation and combination of these words to trace right set of blogs for your guest postings. As you are using quotations, the Google search is strictly confined to the words you are using in quotes.
Tilde (~) operator
Instead of manual laborious search for synonyms, you can use tilde operator to search for words including its synonyms. When you search for ~submit guest post, the search will list out blogs which include present guest post, offer guest post and suggest guest post. You will be able to trace more blogs which are using different words instead of submit.
Wildcard (*) operator
Usage of wild card operator broadens your search result. For example, if you search for “guest post *”, the search will list all the websites which are offering guest post invited, guest post contributor, guest post wanted, etc.
OR operator
You can use OR operator while searching in Google search box. Capital OR should be used between two words. For example, if you search for submit OR write guest post, all the pages which are having either submit guest post or write guest post will be listed.
Searching from a domain
You can narrow down your search by limiting your search to a specific domain. For example if you type, guest post site: www.probloggingsuccess.com in the search box, it will list all the pages that have wordings of guest post in the domain, www.probloggingsuccess.com .
This tip is useful when you come across a famous blog and you are interested to get any entry in to that site with guest posting.
Advanced search link
You can use advanced search link beneath the magnifier icon on Google home page. You can use the form to find results as per the search criteria mentioned in the form.
You will be able to include words, exclude words, restrict to a particular site, restrict to a particular country, restrict to particular dates, etc. You will be able to find blogs similar to your blogs.
Related blogs
If you want to find blogs which are relevant to a specific site, you can use related: URL
