Yesterday, I took my son to the zoo.  Of course that accounts for the missed day in posting.  It was an entire day event.  We had tons of fun.  Anyone will tell you that a 2 year old just loves animals.  Even today, he’s still talking about his day.  Of course, I also kept all of you in mind while I was out there and gathered together some materials for today’s post.  This just goes to show that you can use almost anything as material for a blog post!

Today, we’ll talk about animals.  For time immemorial, we have looked to animals to guide us.  In many cultures they serve as totems or symbols of human traits.  They can symbolize strength, fortune, wisdom, and a multitude of traits.  In eastern cultures, animals are represented in the zodiac.  A different animal for each year.  The American Indians have animal guides.  In Europe, animals are found throughout their mythology.

As bloggers, we all have different character traits.  We have different styles.  Some of us are masters of social media, while others are clever and witty in their content.  Still others use search engine marketing to their advantage.  There is no wrong style of blogging.  It’s all about letting your own personality shine through.  So, what is your blogging personality?

This is the pop quiz portion of the post.  Let’s have some fun with this topic.  If you are still finding your style, or if you already have a style, which animal are you most like as a blogger?

      Thanks Sathish,
The Gorilla is an awesome choice. My son loved watching the Gorillas interact. They are also really intelligent and can use tools to look for food. Perfect for the social media blogger. 🙂
      Take care!

      Hi Suresh,
Maybe you are a combination of animals, which is why you can't pick just one. Perhaps you are a jack of all trades like the platypus. 🙂

    Richard,

    Great article!

I'm a Panda blogger myself. I could see so many characteristics there that the choice was obvious 🙂

I really love this! I'm a sucker for personality quizzes, and I am a sucker for animals. Of course, after reading all of these, my first impulse seems to be the most accurate to what I feel: I think I'm a Panda blogger.

I tend to take my time, and I like to think I'm intelligent, but I'm definitely not a mover and shake in the blogosphere, nor am I flashy or wanting to incite controversy.

I’m a hybrid, a chimera.. hee, I get to use that word again. Part flamingo, but not w/ the Facebook but definitely personable rather personal. I’m part gorilla, with shorter posts and activity elsewhere, but I don’t blog daily. A little warthog as I go for the humor and interesting angles. And part sloth, I’m a slacker who limits my time (and plans to cut back) sitting in front of the computer, so I can spend more.. sitting in front of the DVR. FWIW.

You are an awesome mix! We need to start a chimera section of the zoo for all the hybrids. 🙂

Heh thanks.. someone else used 'chimera' recently, I'd have to scroll old tweets to see who it was. Think most people will tick off at least a two of these boxes, taking a little of each for their own style. Makes it fun.
