To be an entrepreneur is a dream for many. While most of the aspirants, sooner or later start their journey, not all of them are able to achieve the targets they have set. Wondering why? Well, you might be amazed to know that it isn’t lack of skills, flaw in the idea or planning alone. The accepted failure is primarily a mixture of missing set of certain skills.
A study made in the year 2017 revealed that in the United States alone, number of self-employed people has grown drastically. The figures reveal that in comparison to 8,751,000 in 2014, the number reached 8,602,000 by the end of 2016.
Looking at the current market, we can clearly predict that the numbers have far exceeded in the year 2017 and will keep moving.
What’s driving the trend?
While many experts claim that it’s the urge to do work in a self-built environment, there’s a large number of industry experts who believe that innovation and thirst to create new in the growing market is driving this trend.
Is this a bubble?
Being little frank, I personally won’t call it a bubble. Though there was a little down flow in the figures during the second and fourth quarter of the year 2015, after that, the graph never dipped down.
But this isn’t the concern
Well, having new ideas rolling through different industries is undoubtedly a bliss for the future, however, another report linked with startup journeys and entrepreneurship revealed that more than one-third of businesses today will no longer be there in the market after ten years.
Shocking, yet true.
This is exactly why we are here to talk about some expert skills every entrepreneur needs to supercharge his startup. Here’s our list:
1. Don’t over schedule
This is the largely noticed mistake entrepreneurs make. Never overschedule yourself with lots of work and meetings. Keep your little time reserved for self. This can be further utilized in doing a market study, product/service, competitors, or planning. It has been noticed that with the passion to surpass the competitors and grow rapidly in the market, entrepreneurs often try to sail in two or more boats at a time. Well, I won’t say it can’t be done, but do only until the time you can manage it flawlessly.
2. Be a salesman
No matter which industry you belong to or the product/service you are dealing, you have to be a good salesman. As an entrepreneur, you have to not only sell yourself but your entire team and expertise when dealing with clients. To move into the competitive market, you got to learn and implement the most important skills of a salesman in your day to day activities.
3. Plan distinctly and thoroughly
The major challenge today is to build a distinct image. While most of the plans might look fantasizing initially, you need to thoroughly check their feasibility and growth rate in future. This can be done through an in-depth market research and by learning consumer behavior and competitor activities. Talking about distinctly, as someone once said, “You don’t have to do different, doing it differently can work”.
4. Customer service
Keep this on your priority list. An old phrase says, “Customer is God”, well, that’s totally true. Your business primarily resides on how satisfied your customers are. Always remember, a satisfied customer might bring two with him in future, but an unsatisfied customer can steal 10 prevailing/probable clients from you instantly. Keep your after sale support at the best always. Interact with them and convey them that you treasure their presence. Doing this won’t just help you grow but will also improve your market stand, subsequently giving you better sales in future.
5. Be a learner
Last but not the least, most of the successful entrepreneurs have said that a good leader is one who keeps You need to stay updated with everything that’s directly or indirectly linked to your business. Always remember, perfection comes with time and as you reach up, you have more to learn. The cycle never ends.
The journey of entrepreneurship is like a roller coaster ride; lots of ups and downs, but you need to stay calm following safety measures. Bringing the ways to a successful entrepreneur in few points is indeed a difficult task, these were just a few points which I believe can help you have a better ride.
