The worst thing that you could ever allow yourself to do is to let a dream die. If you want something bad enough, you should always keep at it. There is no reason to let it go, despite any obstacles which might cross your path. After all, Langston Hughes did have a point when he wrote these captivating lines of his famous and beloved poem, “A Dream Deferred”:
“What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore–
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over–
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?”
Many of us have dreams which can be in all different directions and venues. Some of us dream of being artists, some of us want to be professional athletes. Some of us want to be famous actors, saxophonists, musicians, bakers, stockbrokers, accountants, police officers…the list literally goes on and on.
But what if you want to be an entrepreneur?
Let’s take two famous entrepreneurs, for example. Yoel Wazana, an immigrant, decided to start a company here in the United States after he discovered a talent for fixing printers. It turned out that Yoel Wazana, who was working as a delivery driver at the time, had a true knack for fixing printers and working with inkjet toners. Before you knew it, Yoel Wazana was working hard on his dream of becoming an entrepreneur of an inkjet and toner business.
However, it was not an easy task. Yoel Wazana found himself frequently working extra hours at both of his jobs in order to make ends meet. As a matter of fact, Yoel Wazana could only work on his business during the day and worked at night; unfortunately, he found himself losing more customers than he could actually gain.
Since this was not pleasing to Yoel Wazana who had set high dreams for himself, he called upon his brother, Avi Wazana for some help.
Avi Wazana, who was working as a co-owner of an upscale jewelry company at the time, had to think a bit about the proposition. Yoel Wazana was in need of a small loan and the only one who could supply this to him was none other than Avi Wazana.
After careful consideration, Avi Wazana supported his brother. Before either of them knew it, the company started to soar. The industry of remanufactured inkjet toners and cartridges was in high demand, and it still is to this day. Yoel an Avi Wazana are both the CEOs of Micro Solutions Enterprises, the dream in which Yoel Wazana had first conjured.
Dreams will take you places and becoming an entrepreneur is not as difficult as it may seem. All you need is a product, some passion, enthusiasm, persistence, and support from your family and friends. If you stick to your dreams, then you can achieve them without difficulty.
